wow...O.O it's relatively sereal with the background, and yet I know what it is, as I myself am a sailor. I live the crisp bold colors and the different shapes as well as the shapes the negative space makes. the composition is captivating with the repeating pattern of the sails and then suddenly a daffadil, changing the subject from sailing to nature, and thet they are ties, because wind powers sailboats. O.O :+fav:

wow, thanks very much for the awesome comment! I love it when someone can see deep into my images and pull up things that I didn't even think of. The subject change was the key to me - but as someone who lives in Vancouver area, I've probably misused the word 'sails', because they're not sails from a boat but rather the Vancouver Convention Centre at Canada Place - and they're supposed to be reminiscient of sailing sails. I took this photo on the principle of going to a tourist trap and photographing something other than the tourist trap but still have it visible.

Again, thanks for your awesome comment!

well even an experienced sailor I thought that they were unfurled sails to boats. the effect was awsome regardless, to half fool the viewer is a very hard feat to do, but I appreciate double meanings in art.

For anyone who isn't from Vancouver, any images of the Sails at Canada Place (what they're called as a roof) would immediatly cause you to think that they were unfurled sails. Your first recognition is a credit to the architects!
